Secrets of web design.
It’s true. Back in the 80’s we drank Swan Beer and sang along to the advert, “they said you’d never make it, when you dreamed of great ideas." Or something to that effect. Of course the up shot of the ad was that YOU did make it; never mind the detractors.
There are plenty of people out there that that will tell you ‘You will never make it’ on the web without,
- A major ad campaign.
- A google page rank of 3 or more.
- A dollar spend that makes your head spin.
- A really sophisticated web site.
- A pile of things beside.
Art communication is very pleased to let you know that it doesn’t have to be that way. In fact we have even surprised ourselves with how well a web site can perform when you stick with the three web basics. Content, content, content.
What is Content?
Content is the information that your customers need and expect from your business.
Content is providing the same level of service online as you do in your place of business.
Content is making that information easily accessible to your customers.
Our latest web site, Vintage Audio .Com .Au delivers just this type of content. We were extremely pleased when the site was first picked up by Australia’s local MSN search engine NineMSN and returned positions 1 & 2 for a simple vintage audio web search. We were even more pleased when we realised that MSN, Microsoft’s world wide search engine and number 2 to Google placed the web site with the same search at #3 world wide; ‘Page 1 of 2,252,641 results containing vintage audio (0.13 seconds)’.
These positions are not paid for and as a new web site Vintage Audio has no Google page rank.
Are these the secrets of web design?
Even though it all sounds too simple we at Art Communication belive that these three content rules are the corner stones of successful web sites. Ok there are web fundamentals that need to be adhered to as well. These basics of Content and Fundamentals would seem to be straight forward but it is amazing to see how many web sites fail to get these key elements right. In fact there are many expensive sites on the web where fundamentals have been completely ignored. The end result is a poor to non existent showing in search rankings.
The good news is that Art Communication cares about their customers and their web sites. We make sure that the client is well informed about the pro’s and con’s of different web designs. Art communication also makes sure that web site fundamentals are adhered to. We don’t expect the client to know how to make a site work. That’s our job and we make sure we do it and do it well.
If we seem proud of our successes we are. As a new business we haven’t made a huge amount of web sites but those we have made are doing very well. Please take the time to view our sites page and to contact us about what Art Communication can do for your business.
